PCMCIA installation

(I lucked out: Red Hat 6.0 installed like a champ on my 750P using an IBM
Home&Away NIC.)

1. One other (not better) way is to do a hard disk install. This of course
means you need a FAT partition big enough to hold the required stuff for
networking under linux so you can get the rest of the software you want.

You can use INTERLNK and INTERSVR that come with IBM DOS which should have
come with the machine. Use those programs and a serial (egad) or parallel
cable to copy the required files to your disk and install from there. 

2. Another way is to find a distribution that will work with the PLIP (or
again egad, SLIP) protocol and interface. 

3. beg/borrow/steal a different NIC for use during installation.
4. beg/borrow/steal a compatible CD drive (PCMCIA or parallel)
