I thought that the 3Com cards used entirely different chipsets, and thus would
request
different memory windows and resources. Token Ring is an entirely different
beast than
E-net and does strange stuff with resources, especially when it comes to PCMCIA.
I've
gotten 3Com e-net and IBM Turbo TR cards to work with Red Hat 5.2 without any
mods,
other than the standard memory inclusions. So much for being backward
compatible, RH6.0.
