[ltp] Linux - Ibm 600 E

228000 bytes != 227 Megabytes

228000/1024 = 222Mb + 672 bytes

This sounds a really strange amount of RAM. I have a 770
and do not know of any configuration that would offer that,
closest I could see would be the 32Mb fixed + 64Mb and 128Mb
chips giving a total of 224Mb (229736 bytes). Is this what
you have? Or is the 600 very different from the 770?
When the same question was asked about the 770 it was
pointed out that 576K was required by the system, did anyone
ever confirm the same is true for a 600? It may need 1376
bytes if you are correct and you do indeed have 224Mb.

The correct amount of RAM *might* be 229736 - 576 = 229160
bytes so you should add: append="mem=229160K" in lilo.conf
and run lilo.
OR it *might* be 228000 in which case add:
append="mem=228000K" and run lilo.

Whatever the case do not forget to run lilo, you must do
this for changes to become active.

Alternatively, enter the memory at the LILO prompt and you
can find out which value works before editing lilo.conf.

HTH,

Michael
