Modem suggestions, please?

Dear Sirs and Madams,

I recently purchased a Thinkpad 760ED, and was researching its compatibilty 
with Linux online.  I was dismayed to find out the sound and modem are 
useless (I'm not about to boot through DOS, too much hassle).

My question is: does anyone have a good reccomendation for a PCMCIA modem 
card that will work with Linux?  I've read the Linux PCMCIA Supported Device 
List, but that only goes so far in regards to modems.  Some Motorola/3COM 
models are supported, others aren't, and there are lots of obscure 
brandnames.  So if anyone has a model number that's worked well for them, 
please let me know ASAP.  Thanks, all!
