[ltp] Problems with PCMCIA Modem in TP760CD

Hi everyone. Here I stand humbly chastised for my disgruntled comments on
the lack of ease etc for Linux. I read the excellent "thesis" written
here:
http://www.io.com/~mccoy/beginning_print.html

ANYWAY - here's my problems...

The other day, I was using my modem, and my KDE session got hung. I swapped
out to another terminal session, and killed the x server process, and
anything else I could see. I ended up killing everything I think! But
after I rebooted, the machine cleaned itself mostly up, except for the
following two problems: serial_cs and register_serial()

I get the following errors when I boot now, and i can't detect my modem from
KDE or anywhere else...

Nov 18 19:04:35 localhost kernel: register_serial(): autoconfig failed
Nov 18 19:04:35 localhost kernel: serial_cs: register_serial() at 0x03f8,
irq3 failed

Any help would be appreciated.

BTW - I have been using Star Office 5.1 and it is pretty good! (slow on a
P90 with lots of graphics though!)

CHeers

J
