Let me explain in detais:

I can ping or even make a conection using FTP or telnet to everywhere
even using names. I tried it in a lot of machines including one in the
same network with no firewals or gateways in the path.

The prompt asking me for userid apears and I reply it.
the prompt asking me for my passowd apears and I reply it.

After that, either telnet or ftp looks like died, with no prompt and
no answers to commands. I can type anything and the only thing that
happens is the echo in the screen.
then I need to interrupt the program (CTRL-Z).

when I use Netscape, it looks crazy... sometimes it hangs, another it
doesn't show the pictures, etc.
If I try to connect to FTP server using it, there is no answer.

If I use a ppp conection, everything works ok (ftp, telnet,
netscape,...)

If you want I can send you my configuration and so on.
