I've been meaning to write a script to run sndconfig automatically at boot, but it has just not been that big a hassle that I've bothered. One weird thing: Does the sample played by sndconfig sound garbled to anyone else, even when it is configured correctly and afterwards the mp3s (and other sounds) all soudn fine? John
