[ltp] XFree86 Version 4 and 770E, 770X

Thanks VERY much, Brad - got it - the autoconfig app was setting the sync
values too low, so while the screen and X didn't complain, it also didn't
show anything.  I've set them to:
    HorizSync   31.5-64
    VertRefresh 55-100
and now it works.

The screen does feel a lot snappier, but I STILL haven't been able to
emulate a lower rez on the screen (useful for doing presentations at XGA
rez rather than at 1280x1024).

How do you toggle thru the different rez's anyway on a thinkpad (which has
no numeric + or -)?  Or is this useless anyway as the thinkpad won't
display a dithered down rez?

Anyone who needs a starter XF86Config file for XFree86 4.0 for the 770X
(1280x1024) can give me a shout (and I'll be happy to pass on Brad's for
the 770E (1024x768) as well).
