Actually, Netscape works fine at 16-bit or 32-bit color depth.  It is at
24-bit color depth that the problem occurs (you get 1-bit depth icons --
ick!).  Some chipsets support only 24-bit or 32-bit color depth as the
high color option, but some support both.
