[ltp] Boot devices on TP i Series 1200

Dear All,

My CD-ROM drive doesn't want to boot RedHat Linux CD's
and maybe any bootable CD for that matter.
I have a IBM ThinkPad i Series 1200 machine.
(Yes, got that for only $699)
Of course, did fiddle with the BIOS options a bit and made sure
that the boot device order was correct.
I get the error message: "BOOT FAILED".
Anybody experienced the same and nows how to resolve it?
