I installed redhat-7.0 on a A20p (or whichever the 1400x1050 is),
I could get things to work perfect on the LCD or external, but when
I ran the external + lcd at the same time the external monitor would
drop sync periodically. Apparently the ATI chip isn't quite up
to doing both at the same time at 1024x768.

Either that or our unit individually has problems, I did a deja news
search and found others with similar problems though.

XFree86-4 worked MUCH better then 3.3.6 that I had tried previously,
changing video modes worked, no dithering with the LILO/SVGA mode
and similar. Previously I had to actually install different
lilo cofnigs and reboot to change resolutions.

Except for internal and external video simulatenously I'm pretty
happy with the unit, > 100 dpi on a lcd makes for a very nice
environment. I'd consider it even for a desktop replacement.
