800x600, IIRC it is 16-bit (64k colors).

Yes.  Don't expect it to even pretend to run Quake, though.  The video
hardware on the 755 is pretty slow, even by the standards when it came out.
(To be fair, laptop video speed really hasn't been very good up until the last
couple of years)

I would expect FreeBSD to work with it, but I never did it myself.  I'm not
sure about NetBSD.

Yes.  It does make it a little more pleasant to use than under Windows.  The
755 is a pretty decent box, I liked mine at the time, but the video is really
too slow for anything but office type applications.

A 540M hard drive is pretty small, and 24M of memory isn't much, but not
horrid under Linux.  You should be able to find a lower end 760 with a 12"
display, floppy, CD, 1G HD & 32M or more of ram for $500.  Maybe less.
That'd make a much better Linux machine than a 755CX.  I don't know if the
video is much better, but the rest of it certainly is...
