As I wrote - I suspect your Linux partition has no bootable boot sector.
Install LILO there and off it goes. You may want to read the
Linux+NT-Loader mini HOWTO to get an idea how this works. 

Has anybody proved it works with Boot Magic at all? What other OSes do you
want to boot, and why is B.M. paramount? Why not use LILO in the first
place? The only OS I know of which doesn't like to be booted with LILO is
NT. (Haven't pursued Solaris etc, though)
