[ltp] Using external CD drive on 570

Ilya,

Maybe we were going off in a wrong direction.
I found this in PCMCIA-HOWTO:

  o 	The Linux IDE driver may have trouble configuring certain
	removable-media drives if no media is present at insertion time.
	The IBM Portable DriveBay has this problem.

#  Unless you're using UltraBase, your CD-ROM drive is /dev/hdc.

If above is not the case, a question will be:   What entries 
appear in /var/{adm,log}/messages when you insert the
IDE interface card for Portable Drive Bay?
