[ltp] Kensington trackball and 3 buttons?

I recently started using an external keyboard and a Kensington Expert
Mouse trackball on my 700Z.  Everthing works except 3 button
emulation.

When I highlight something in an xterm and press both mouse buttons,
nothing happens. How do I get it to paste?

I tried adding Emulate3Buttons to the Pointer section of XF86Config
but it didn't have any effect.
