  You need bzip2/bunzip2.

   type bunzip2 filenam.tar.bz2 to decompress such a file.

   Be careful with ALSA on the i1460.  The latest CVS code hasn't worked on
the i1460 in a couple months and I've got no response from the developers. 
It doesn't work and if you try to force it to work, it locks the machine up
hard.  From there you will run ./configure and then make and then "make
install".
