All:

I have used the ps2.exe to enable my serial port using the following sequence
of commands:

ps2 ir disable
ps2 sera add 1
ps2 sera enable
ps2 ser on

However, I still cannot seem to be able to use my serial port. When I run
"tpctl --rsx" this is the output:

   serial port 1: enable 0x3f8 IRQ4
   serial port 2: disable 0x0 IRQ0

It does not show the COM1 as being bound to serial port 1. In the bootup log I
see the following:
Serial driver version 4.27 with MANY_PORTS SHARE_IRQ enabled
	ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A

What am I doing wrong here? How do I get my serial port to work so that I can
sync my palm. I am using Mandrake 7.1 running a 2.2.17kernel on a TP600.

Any help/info truly qppreciated.

thanks

prabhakar
