    Indeed!  Just this very evening I finished installing RH7 on my TP770.
Red Hat was not my first choice but by all accounts it does seem to handle the APM
and a bunch of other "laptop" stuff  very well "out of the box"  It even picked up
my Adaptec scsi card and my 3com etherlink card without prompting.

Important for a laptop novice such as myself.
