My goodness, a vertical line of dead pixels!?

I will demand a replacement even for ONE dead pixel. For my last notebook
purchase (not IBM), I settled for cash compensation and subsequently even
managed to obtain a guarrantee for a perfect screen.

You should exercise your consumer rights :) I believe you should expect a
replacement when you have more than 5 dead pixels.
