I'm running SuSE 7.1 (also with ALSA) and Windoze 2000 on a T21 and it
shows the same behaviour. It's no real problem for me as I seldomly boot
the stuff from Redmond ...

I guess that it has to do with PCI bus power, but I haven't ever
investigated that much. So I have no solution, sorry, but perhaps it
comforts you a little that you're not alone with this problem.

Best advice I can give: Try booting Win$@!# less often! ;-)
