The 600 model has a CS4237B which works with either the
stock Linux or the ALSA cs423x driver.

The 600X models have one of the CS46xx chips.  These work
with the stock cs46xx driver.  The ALSA 0.9 cs46xx driver
is buggy ATM.  I don't know about the ALSA 0.5 cs46xx driver.
