Hi all,

A couple of months ago, I wrote to this list about my PCMCIA ethernet
stopping working spontaeously overnight. I was getting errors detecting my
PCMCIA controller.

I am just writing to the list to say that I have since loaded OpenBSD onto
the ThinkPad (a TP600, type 2645), because of the BSD anal enumeration on
boot. It appeared the my PCMCIA controller is fine, and always has been,
and actually the Ethernet card was to blame. Bizarrely, I had already
tried another knon good ethernet card.

Could it be that my new Ethernet card doesn't use the same communication
lines and therefore avoids a damaged part of circuit somehow?

Looking for an answer...
