Hello linux-thinkpad,

I've been running Redhat Linux 6.2 dual booting with Win98SE on my
ThinkPad 770ED for some time. A couple months ago, I got a really good
deal on a SelectaDock III. A couple weeks ago, I purchased an internal
IDE CD-RW drive by TDK. It sits in the drive bay in the dock and is
connected to the IDE and power cables sitting there for that purpose.

When booted under Win98SE, the system sees this as a third IDE chain
and finds the CD-RW drive on it. I have successfully burned several
CD-R discs with it in this configuration.

However, Linux does not seem to notice that it is there. I suspect
that the default configuration is looking for at most two IDE chains
and is not looking for the third one.

Am I correct? Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Thanks! Ron.
