If you have the wrong kind of thinkpad, it turns it into an expensive
unbootable doorstop.

The program that definitely does this is sensors-detect, I think, but
other bits of lm-sensors may also fry your laptop.

What it should do is let you use the system temp/voltage/fan speed/foo
monitoring capabilities of your machine, and on most lm-equipped things
that aren't thinkpads, that's what the package does.
