Hi guys,

I've just installed RedHat 7.1 on my 770X, type 9549-710. All went well
except when I tried to configure the dialup to get onto the Internet the
RedHat system told me that there is no modem. It also in the manual
mentions winmodems with a comment that they do not work on linux.

Can anyone give me the standard solution to this please?

Do I change the modem or are there any software drivers I can download and
transfer to my 770 via a floppy?

The ThinkPad Modem description on the base of the computer is

Complies with part 68, FCC Rules
FCC Reg No : 4u6jpn-31879-dt-e
Ring EQ. : 0.5 Ren : 0.5

Whatever that means?

Comments and suggestions most welcome.

Many thanks

ciao
