The A20p, at least, has a rage mobility [r128] based chipset, and I don't
experience such hangs w. Xfree 4.0.3. [debian/testing]

[ Well - it's locked a couple of times, but both times during heavy 3D DRI
  load - so I'm inclined to blame that. Hasn't happened recently either ]
