[ltp] APM madness

Hi I've an IBM i1400 2461 and I can't get the thing to come back after it  
   suspends. If I leave it on too long plugged in and running on the net. It
   will just die. It does not respond to any activity. I often use it remotely
   and it will die while I'm compiling. I'm in kernel 2.4.1 any help would be
   much appreciated.
