[ltp] Reducing brightness of TFT

Hi,

my thinkpad has a TFT display and under certain light conditions it is
to bright. Since its brightness can only be adjusted a little bit by
pressing function keys I am looking for a tool that allows me to make
all colors in XFree a little darker. Does such a thing exist?
