My guess is they changed it because Win2k now uses ACPI power management
method and the hibernation file is created on the same partition as
Win2k itself resides.

In addition to that, PS2 does not work any more on the newer TP models
(A, T and X series) AFAIK. For most of the tasks you used PS2 for, you
now have the advanced BIOS menu. And for creation of that hibernation
file, you are expected to use the TP utilities application in Win2k.
(I'm not sure, but IIRC you can also create the hibernation file on a
different partition than C: with that application.)

Nevertheless, it's good to still have such a thing like that standalone
diskette around - for those that rather have Linux and good old APM
instead of RedmondOS and ACPI ... ;-)
