[ltp] Thinkpad 600 CDROM woes

The CD-ROM on my ThinkPad 600E died last year, with similar symptoms to
yours: spins up, tries and fails to read the disc, spins down and flashes
LED.  I took it to IBM and the drive was replaced under warranty.

The new one seems to have a loose part rolling around inside it somewhere,
but works happily.
