[ltp] DPMS not working on i1200

Hiya,

I can't seem to get DPMS working properly on my i1200.  XFree 4.1.0 is
used and it claims to enable DPMS during bootup, but the screen is not
blanked automatically.

Using "xset force" only works for "off" at all, and even then the
backlight is not turned off.  Other modes don't work at all.

Is this a known problem? Are there workarounds?

P.S. Kernel version is 2.4.15p5, same problem with 2.4.13 and 2.2.18
