no i'm actually connecting a video projector and it interpolates to
1400x1050 quite nicely under win2k, so i don't think that's it.

in linux i get either lcd or crt but not both at the same time, that's
what i need (well one of my users :)

i have tried to start x in alot of different modes eg 800x600,
1024x768 and with different bpp. under win2k i have to use 16bpp to
get it all to work properly. well anyway i can't even get it to work
in console mode, the same there --either lcd or crt, not both at the
same time.

i have been doing a tad more reading and found a patch for s3switch
from d. sen, at&t labs, that i will try out on monday. i'm a little
dissappointed with s3graphics and ibm for their lack of support as
d. sen states in an earlier mail to this list...

yours,
/robert
