Shawn, you're missing /dev/thinkpad?  Try 'ls /dev/thinkpad'.  If it
ain't there, create it.  Check tpctl's documentation or
/dev/MAKEDEVICES (not sure about the exact name of that script but
it's the only all-uppercase name file in /dev).
