[ltp] Internal Modem on TP 600

I am completly new to Linux, so I would appreciate any
help. I am running SuSe 7.2 on a TP 600
OK I have downloaded the software and run the
commands. And have also downloaded the kernel to the
usrc/src/linux directory. But when I run ./configure I
still get a message  configure: error: *** You must
specify the correct path to your linux kernel 
source tree in order to build the driver module.
 What is the source tree? What am I doing wrong.

Any Help greatly appreciated
