Don't always count on something working with windows if it works with linux..
I have a PCMCIA 56k hardware modem, that's a global village, straight out 
of a powerbook. Couldn't get it to work under windows under any 
circomstances (no drivers were written for it as it was a mac modem) !! but 
plug it into linux and sweet as :-)
