Hi all,

First of all, I would like to apologize if any of my questions are obvious, I'm
a newbie in linux on laptops.

I recently purchased a IBM ThinkPad A31 (model 2652 - KXG). I guess it is too
new, as I have found almost nothing with google about that model.

I've installed Debian woody on a partition. But XFree86 Version 4.1.0.1 does'n
want to start. I tried with "ati" driver. lspci -v shows it has an ati card:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LW (prog-if 00 [VGA])
        Subsystem: IBM: Unknown device 0509
Flags: bus master, stepping, fast Back2Back, 66Mhz, medium devsel, latency 66, IRQ 11
        Memory at e8000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=128M]
        I/O ports at 3000 [size=256]
        Memory at d0100000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] [size=128K]
        Capabilities: [58] AGP version 2.0
Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2

I run the recent 2.4.19 kernel.

1.- Has anyone been successful with that version of XFree86 on that card ?

2.- if not, with another version of XFree86 ?

3.- btw, anyone knows the horizontal and vertical frequencies of the display?
(I can't find them anywhere)

Talking about audio :

lspci -v :
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)
        Subsystem: IBM: Unknown device 0508
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11
        I/O ports at 1c00 [size=256]
        I/O ports at 18c0 [size=64]

4.- Do you know if is supported in 2.4.19 kernel ? which module ?

Thanks in advance ...
