Hello,
I try to install SuSE 7.1 on my Thinkpad 460. The CD-Rom device is an
(Freecom IQ-Series) connected via PCMCIA. I think it is recognized
because I can open and close it from the menue. But I cannot mount it
:-(
I boot from floppy disk and load the PCMCIA drivers.
On console 4 the drive is recognized:
...
hdc: FX322M, ATAPI CDROM drive
ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 3
hdc: ATAPI 32X CD-ROM drive, 256 Cache
Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.11
ide_cs:hdc: Vcc = 5.0, Vpp =0.0
...

but when I try to mount the CD I get:

...
cdrom:open failed
Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
...

Later after open and close the CDROM:
...
hdc: irq timeout: status=0xd0 {Busy}
hdc: ATAPI reset complete
ide1: unexpected interrupt, status=0x58 {DRiveReady SeekComplete
DataRequest}
hdc: drive not ready for command
...

...
cdrom:open failed
Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
...

Does anybody has an idea whats wrong ?
Thanks a lot for every advice.

Christian
