don't know about RH7.3 but I use a patched version of the xfree 4.2
neomagic driver that supports the xv extension (otherwise watching dvd
videos isn't fun anyway).  it is available at the mplayer site:

	http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/video.html#xv_neomagic

to be able to play dvd videos you need the following option in the
device section:

	Option "OverlayMem" "829440"

otherwise you get a error similar to yours (don't remember exactly).
