[ltp] R31 & Intel i830MG Gfx for XFree 4.2?

Intel says on the page

how to make X recognize the chipset, and even how to have a native OpenGL
driver for Linux on this chipset.

I have problems compiling the XFree driver that is included in the XFree
distribution as Intel says. Has anyone succeeded in compiling the driver?
How does it work?
