IIRC they did some heavy patchwork (pun intended) to get TrueType fonts=20
working the same way for GNOME2 and KDE.  Also, there's that 'undocumente=
d=20
feature' where you can dump TTF in a special directory (~/.fonts, maybe?)=
=2E

It is possible that they forked XFree86 before a patch was applied to the=
=20
driver, but then again I could just be making all this up :^P
