Yeah, I built a set of SOAP based CRM modules for use in various applications 
for my clients web apps and I interfaced to those as well, very similar 
setup. I would assume the author just didn't grok xml-rpc or something cause 
its pretty darn easy to use with SOAP::Lite. Ain't web services wonderful? 
hehe.
