This is where I am now...

1.04 - BIOS: inet24ww, slave controller: IHHT08WW

Updates of interest...

Symptoms corrected by version 1.06 - inet26ww
(New) Support has been added for the 256 MB memory dimm.
(Fix) The system should no longer experience an InfraRed configuration problem.

Symptoms corrected by version 1.09 - INET29WW
(Fix) After updating the BIOS, Linux will not boot or can not be installed properly.

Symptom corrected by version 1.15 - INET35WW
(Fix) Linux system fails with memory detection. Linux operating system only.

Symptom corrected by version 1.16 - INET36WW
(Fix) Operating system installation failure with CD-ROM boot

The last three look particluarly relevant to a Linux installation.

Does anyone know if the 256MB reference means that the system will tolerate an
increase to 544MB total (32MB + 256MB + 256MB) or does it just mean you can have
a single 256 instead of the standard two 128MB DIMMs? (Getting reports that KDE
would like more than 128MB to play with).
