Very ingenious. But as a presenter, I like to see on my LCD what is
being projected. You have two separate session. While I could look
at the visual on my LCD screen, a click to advance to the next visual
would mean nothing on the :1 screen which means I have to toggle back
to that screen (alt/clt/f8 in redhat) and at that point, the lcd is blank
so I have to look at the projection screen to see where I am moving the
cursor so I can click on the 'advance' button.

PS the visuals we use are PDF files so they can be displayed as easily
in windows as linux. However, if you are teaching a linux class, it is
nice to be able to toggle away from the presentation, show a command and
go back to the presentation. The way I do this in windows is bring up a
terminal emulator (like hyperterm) thru the serial port to another linux
machine which had a getty (or mgetty) running on ttyS0 - so I am just a
locally attached terminal. It works fine - but does require another
machine - and looks kind of tacky that you have to do the presentation
using windows because you can't get linux to drive both crt and lcd.

BTW - a note of mine to the 'contact us' button at s3's site about
this problem has not been answered in weeks. Does this imply S3
could give a rats .... about linux?
