Ok,

Since I had no luck in redhat with any of the help I found via =
everyone's suggestions, I decided to go with mandrake 7.2. So my =
question.. even in this OS I can get sound working, even with the built =
in alsa that actually detects the card and has modules for it. Do I need =
the newest BIOS upgrade? I have 1.15, when I run the thinkpad update =
util, the only thing it shows is that update.. thats pretty much all, =
but on the farside, the update states it only
upgrades for winxp support, strangly, I already run xp with no problems, =
and another minor patch. Why I ask is because when I run ps2 audio =
enable on the command prompt and reboot my system reboots, shows the =
splash screen, then beeps 3 times total, then clean reboots again, =
obviously erasing whatever ps2 just did, and going ito linux and failing =
to load the drivers. If anyone has any help ont his please reply.
