if you have the 600e (2645), then you can use the Ultraslimbay 2nd HDD adapter, which is either 05K5336 or 05K5338 (both #s supplied by IBM - see http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/LWIK-3XZPT5.html for more...)

I used this all the time on my 600E...
