[ltp] Problem with installer - update

An update -

Strangely I am still having the problem, even with *another* hard disk 
in the system (another working Linux drive, which also boots fine and 
starts X no problem).  It is like the RH 7.2 CD has suddenly gone bad. 
Nothing else about the system changed.  I'm buring a set of RH 7.3 CDs 
now and will give that a try.

... strangest thing I've seen in a long time...
