Dave Hinds, the author if pcmcia-cs told me that this is only a
warning. In most cases this won't cause any problems. Does your card
work?

It's a kernel parameter. Either add it to the command line at you boot
promt to test this option or add it to the appen= line in
/etc/lilo.conf and rerun lilo to make it permanent.
