[ltp] Hibernate on X22

The disk is supposed to show you a create partion option AND a create
file option. The readmy file says the creat partition option is not
supported and not to select it.

I also only recieved the create partion option. The problem is the disk
will only support PRIMARY fat partions, and I believe it has to be
tagged active.

This caused me a lot of grief, because I don't like putting my boot
loader in the MBR (and I wanted to hang onto the IBM MBR that supports
F11 to the recovery partition, I had my Windows XP installation become
completely unusable once already).

My systems partition talbe was laid out as follows: I used partition
magic to renumber partions and shrink the NTFS partion.

/dev/hda MBR IBM boot loader with F11
/dev/hda1 Windows XP NTFS
/dev/hda2 /boot active (and contained either LILO or grub loader in Boot
record)
/dev/hda3 Extended partition
/dev/hda4 IBM recovery partition
/dev/hda5 Fat32 for datasharing
/dev/hda6 /
/dev/hda7 /var
/dev/hda8 /usr

As you can see I was in trouble, no room for a primary FAT partion.

I ended up with the following setup, which allowed me all the
functionality I wanted. I have only used this new setup with GRUB (and
no setactive statements). I have not tested it with LILO.

/dev/hda MBR still IBM loader
/dev/hda1 still XP NTFS
/dev/hda2 FAT 32 datashare partion, 1.2 GB, active. Grub stage 1 loader
installed in partition boot block (frightning, worked though).
/dev/hda3 extended
/dev/hda4 IBM recovery
/dev/hda5 /
/dev/hda7 /var
/dev/hda8 /usr

The hibernation boot disk then gave me the option to create a file, and
I have working hibernation with the file on /dev/hda2
