[ltp] Sensors still an issue?

If you have the BIOS upgrade and APM up, then I would monitor the
machine with 'top' to find out if there's some process spinning in the
background that could keep the processor occupied.

Also, have you made sure APM is enabled? I guess you could check
'dmesg'.

That's what you get for buying quality. Anyway, were you running a
screensaver at the time? They can consume quite a bit of CPU, and if
you're doing that, then that could explain things.

Also, what exact model do you have? What processor, more specifically?

The pre-SpeedStep faster processors would run pretty hot. I think the
first one was the Mobile PIII 600 or possibly 550. Before that, they
ran pretty hot if I remember correctly. (I waited and waited to get
a 600X with a SpeedStep processor. I held off on my purchase for over
six months.)
