You found that the video card was OK?  Does your T23 have the S3 SuperSavage Mx/ix
adapter? at 1400*1050 resolution?  Didn't find that for me and I had 1200*1000 at best.
I had to use Xconfigurator and select the VESA driver.  Need to update later with
Tim Roberts S3 driver.
